We have an in-school field trip coming up Friday, November 8th from 8:30-11:30am.  Please look in backpacks a form came home today!  I need 6 volunteers who would like to help us build wire human sculptures.  If you are interested and available to volunteer please email me!   

This week in writing we have been working on good strong ideas. This is our new student checklist that we use when we are writing.  As you can see we are still focusing on neat printing, capital letters, periods and spelling our word wall words correctly.  We simply added another item good strong ideas.

Last week we finished reading Flat Stanley's Canadian Expedition.  This was an amazing story about how Stanley traveled across Canada. 

This book inspired us to write our own story about how Stanley travels to the three communities we are learning about (Nunavut, Saskatchewan and Nova Scotia). 

After coming up with a variety of ideas of what he could see at the zoo students began writing their stories.   Today some students shared their writing with the class.
