We read a beautiful version of the book titled: Stone Soup today.  If you would like to watch it at home here a link to the story online

This story taught us the importance of working together with a moral regarding the value of sharing.

Thank you VERY much for participating by bringing in chopped vegetables for our class soup!!!  The students were very excited to make the soup together and taste it at the end of the day!

We continued our discussion on community building and Thanksgiving by creating I am thankful for pumpkins.

Please check backpacks for a writing sample and rubric.

For the first month of school we focused primarily on conventions

1. printing neat
2. begin sentences with a capital letter
3. end with proper punctuation
4. using our word wall to assist us in spelling high frequency words

I have marked the writing and provided you with a copy of this to keep.  This is to show you how your child is doing in writing so far.  For the next while we will be focusing on Conventions and Ideas.  As the year continues writing expectations increase.  I will continue to provide monthly writing samples so that you can see how your child is doing.  If you have any questions, comments or concerns please email me.
