New Words for this week are:

Today we learned the Lively Letter story of the th consonant blend.
The t is biting her tongue, blowing out air and her voice is on. Oh, oh! Now h is getting mad at t for blowing air at him. They are both sticking out their tongues, and turning their voices on.
Now that we are done learning individual letter sounds, we are learning different consonant blends to assist us in both reading and writing.
From the English Language Arts grade 2 Program of Studies students will...
Use phonics and structural analysis
- apply phonic rules and generalizations to read unfamiliar words in context
- apply knowledge of long and short vowel sounds to read unfamiliar words in context
- use knowledge of word parts, contractions and compound words to read unfamiliar words in context
- associate sounds with some vowel combinations, consonant blends and digraphs, and letter clusters to read unfamiliar words in context.
Here are some fun songs to help us remember how to spell, and use their vs there.
These songs can also be found in the learning links tab under writing.
