Thank you very much Tim McAlpine (Tobin's dad) for coming in and sharing all of your Saskatchewan knowledge and experiences with us!
We have learned so much from our amazing Saskatchewan experts!
Yesterday afternoon, we talked about how farming has changed over time.
Students were told they were going to write...
Farming in the past is better than in the present.
OR
Farming in the present is better than in the past.
Many students were excited to write about how much farming has improved!
HOWEVER...
In Social Studies we learn how to explore events and issues from different points of view.
Students came up to the smart board and clicked the dice. The dice rolled and landed on either the past or the present.
Next, each group got together to brainstorm why farming would be good in that time period.
Today, we picked three of the most important reasons and put these ideas down on our planning page.
Lastly, we used our planning page to assist us in writing! Here is what we came up with.
