The Set for the Lion King
Dear families of Auburn Bay,
As you may have heard, Auburn Bay is hard at work putting together and creating the musical, The Lion King, Jr.
Part of this production is creating the set and props that go with this wonderful piece.
Before looking for the materials needed to create this set we are asking the community of Auburn Bay if they have access to donate any of the needed material.
We are not asking anyone to purchase these materials, only requesting that if they know where to get any of these supplies as donations.
We will collect any supplies throughout this week and next week. Please email me directly on what you are thinking of bringing and we will let you know if we still need the material. You can then drop it off at the office and we will pick it up.
Whatever supplies are not received by the end of the week will be purchased over the weekend so that construction of the set can begin the first week of March.

List of Supplies Needed for the Lion King Set
- Paint to create backdrops, such as the following, colours needed would be pinks, oranges, yellows, greens, blues, browns, grey, white and black.
2. Large cardboard tubes, paper for coverage, pop bottles for branches to create the boab trees.
3. Spray foam and brown paper for logs..
4. Large paper bags and spray shades of grey spray paint for rocks.
5. Foam core or thick stiff cardboard to prop up large jungle grass.
6. Halloween props of fake bones for the elephant graveyard and large pieces of cardboard to make larger pieces.
7. Brown paper and fake jungle vines for Scar’s cave.
8. A stick with decorative elements for Rafiki’s staff.
9. Thick twine/rope.

13. Umbrellas - older
The umbrellas will be used as a prop during the song Hakuna Matata.
They will be painted and decorated so please only donate what you don’t need anymore.
14. Kiddie Pool - older
This kiddie pool will be used as the reflection pool during the scene where Simba hears his father telling him to go back home.
It will be painted and glued on. Please only donate what you don’t need.
15. Dowling Sticks - larger
To support large frond leaves used as props during a song.
